I had the honor of being asked to photograph these awesome people for their sunset family photos this fall! I met them two years ago when I photographed their wedding ceremony at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. I’ve developed a friendship with Melissa, the mom, through social media since photographing them in 2018. She’s also a creative thinker, which is probably why we get along so well. She was up for this wonderfully unkempt, slightly wild, natural location for her family’s fall portraits. It was a gorgeous, sunny afternoon and we had a blast!
As you can see, the children in this family were allowed to explore and play. We made time for some posed images as well as candid ones. The candid photos are usually the ones we cherish because it reminds us of our children’s personalities at that particular age, but it’s nice to have a few portraits of everyone looking at the camera too.
Reach out if you’re in need of family photos and you’d like something beyond the traditional style of photography. I’d be happy to plan a session with you. If you’d like to see more family photography on the blog, please visit this link. There are many different families featured in the Family Sessions gallery as well.
