They say if you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life. I’m here to tell you IT’S TRUE. All these years “they” have been right, at least about this one topic. I LOVE my job. When I say love, I’m not using that word like some overuse “amazing.” Nope, it’s the absolute truth. There are really only a handful of things I feel this way about (and in no certain order):
- photography
- chocolate
- my family
- my close friends
- music
- being a vegetarian
- watermelon
- the beach
- a beer on the beach
I’ve been photographing Jovanna and Ausharea for several years. It just so happens that they’re friends so we talked about a session with the two of them. We started planning and I kept coming back to the idea of incorporating large bubbles in the photographs. Bubbles make you think of fun and sunshine and everything happy. I wanted a 70’s vibe and Bowie just made sense. I’m a fan and it all started falling into place-a Bowie & Bubbles themed session! YES! Moonage Daydream has been on repeat for days.
These two did not disappoint and our energy was totally in sync! I wouldn’t mind a repeat once a week to recharge my creative batteries.
This outdoor photo session was at Moss Rock Nature Preserve in Hoover with an audience of hikers and nature lovers. It’s always great to start off a day outside creating photographs. It just sets the happiness vibe high for the rest of the day after that glorious feeling of creative collaboration; success feels pretty good too.
