Birmingham Fall Family Photos / Moss Rock Preserve / Jill and Keith

FILED IN: Families

If you’re ever in a bad mood, look at a baby. Notice how they’re fascinated by the slightest breeze, sound, and silly face. Watch them giggle, kick their legs, and bounce in excitement. Live in the moment with a child; their happiness and innocence are a thing of real wonder.

Jill, Keith, and I met at Moss Rock Nature Preserve in November for a fall family photo session. Their first born was only a few months old at the time, and they knew it was important to document her before she got any bigger. It’s amazing how quickly they grow and change that first year. From one week to the next you may notice even the way they once wrinkled their nose when they smiled has been altered. Your lives will be so full of milestones, ups and downs, and many activities, it will be impossible to remember it all without photographs.

Just look at those fall colors! I’m missing them already as I write this post, only a month after our photo session. The leaves are beginning to fall from the trees and it’s harder to spot the color in the environment than it was a few short weeks ago. It’s one of the most beautiful times of the year in Alabama for sure! This is my absolute favorite photo from the day! It got a little chilly and she became fussy, so being the already incredibly intuitive parents Jill and Keith are, they wrapped their beautiful baby in a blanket and made life a little sweeter. Almost immediately she stopped crying and gave me this beautiful intense look into the camera.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 100 times! Document your family; you’ll be so happy you did!

  1. I’m not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your blogs really nice, keep
it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your website to come
back later on. All the best

  2. First of all I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you
don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you ceenter yourself and clear your mind before writing.

I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas
out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints?
    Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to read it. I am a list maker. I love checking off my accomplishments. When it comes time to write a blog post, I try to focus solely on it. I enjoy choosing the images and preparing them for the post. I used to teach English so writing is something I like to do. I suggest clearing your desk of clutter, making a list, and trying to choose something you are genuinely interested in to post. It’s much easier to focus if you are enjoying what you’re doing. Thanks for asking!

  3. I love it when people come together and share ideas.

  5. I could not resist commenting. Very well written!
