I was asked to photograph the engagement session of one of my favorite Birmingham models. My answer was an emphatic YES! I’ve gotten to photograph Clarissa two other times and both were with such ease and creativity, I knew her engagement session would be equally wonderful. We had similar interests in locations, something wild, something kinda dark. It took a matter of moments to think of the perfect settings. 
Adding black-and-white images to a gallery not only provides variety, but also changes the mood a little. It’s a classic look that I never tire of. With the combination of Clarissa’s dress and the nearly 200 year-old building, you find yourself wondering when these were taken.
I couldn’t be happier about this photo session! Clarissa and Jon’s love for one another was the main ingredient in making it so successful; trusting their photographer and their willingness to try something different were others. They laughed and loved on this cool morning, and we all had a great time adventuring together. They will make a beautiful bride and groom and I’m sure 2019 will be one of their favorite years yet!

This is my brother Jonathan and future sister Clarissa. I don’t have a sister and Clarissa has become the sister of my heart! You captured them beautifully. The pure joy on my brother’s face. They made me tear up because you documented the start of their life together and we will cherish these for the rest of our lives as a family.
