A Decade as a Family Photographer
I feel very fortunate to have been able to call myself a professional family photographer in Birmingham for a decade! It’s hard to believe that Bang Images began in 2015. It was one of my life’s best decisions. I’ve photographed hundreds of Birmingham families and I’m grateful for every one!
The Nall Family
As you can probably tell from these photos, the Nall family has two spunky kids. I’m sure if you’ve read any of my other blog posts, you know how much I love to photograph high energy children. I absolutely adore a challenge. And yes, it’s a challenge to quite literally chase little ones around with my camera, but it’s also one of my favorite things.
I have happily photographed this sweet family three times. I hope to continue to see their family photo session requests in my inbox for years to come. They’re all around great people! Their kids are at those wonderful ages where they’ve taken up residence in a state of constant wonder and excitement. They play and I document and it’s magical!
Golden Hour
As with many of my photo sessions, I try to schedule them during afternoon golden hour. We were blessed with a gorgeous, sunny, cool afternoon in November. The location we chose had an open field, which was perfect for photos just before sunset.
If you’ve ever booked a session with me and wondered why I only offer very specific times. This is why I’m so particular about the time of day we photograph. Multiple times throughout life, golden hour has proven to be comforting, yet exhilarating, and soft, yet dynamic.
If the children are old enough to run around safely independently, I always get a few photos of the parent(s). Family dynamics are unique. Sometimes there is an individual parent, and other times there’s a couple. Everyone and every relationship is worth documenting.
I couldn’t be happier to call myself a family photographer in Birmingham! What a gift it is to be able to call this work! I hope to work with you one day; please contact me.
