I got to spend a really fun Saturday afternoon photographing family farm portraits with the McLeans. I’m always honored to be hired and even more so to be invited to someone’s home, or in this case, a special country escape.

Happy Family
A thought that played on repeat while photographing them was how this sweet family has had so many amazing experiences here, from exploring their local creek to scampering down rolling hills.

Happy Dogs
The people aren’t the only happy ones. The freedom their dogs have to explore seems nothing short of euphoric.

After a quick clothing change, we ventured to another beautiful area.

I first met and photographed the McLeans during the Pandemic in their backyard with a much longer than normal lens. (As you probably remember, we all made the best of a confusing, difficult time.) Since six years have passed, I wasn’t really sure what to expect.

Little ones usually dictate how a portrait session will go and I love following their lead. Photographing teens is often very different than photographing small children. I was pleasantly surprised that the girls were still really playful and so easy to photograph!

Peace and Quiet
As an introvert who lives near downtown Birmingham, I found myself a little envious of all that peace and quiet.

It was an incredible afternoon that I will not soon forget.

I’ve been photographing families for over two decades. If you think we’re a good fit, please reach out. Whether you’d like family farm portraits, or a session at home or out on location, I’d love to meet you with my camera and tell your story.
