Introduction
I hope you enjoy the Couple’s Ultimate Wedding Photography Post! I am Jennifer Alsabrook-Turner, owner and primary photographer of Bang Images. My goal is to produce an artful, honest documentation of you and your loved ones. Bang Images is mostly a natural light portrait and wedding photography company with an art school background. My approach to photography may be a little different than some photographers. I prefer to document instead of interrupt and allow real life to unfold. If you are a couple who’d like a photojournalistic approach with more candid than posed images, we are probably a very good fit! I firmly believe there is a photographer for everyone. Please search until you find the photographer that’s right for you!
Why Bang Images?
There are many reasons to choose Bang Images. Hopefully you’ve looked through my portfolio and followed along on social media to determine if you feel a connection. There are other reasons too. Bang Images is a licensed company. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and a second bachelors in Art Education. I have more than twenty years experience photographing weddings. Any assistants hired for longer wedding days are always professionals, not photographers in training. In addition, I have a few accomplishments that may be of interest. Lastly, but worth noting, I’ve been vetted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) as a photographer in their Marketing and Communications Department.
Before the Wedding Day
The first step in securing me as your wedding photographer is to request a quote through email. Then we’ll arrange a meeting. It’s always nice to speak to someone in addition to the initial information shared through email. I want to hear all about your wedding! We’ll decide whether you need one or two photographers based on the length of your wedding day. Then you will choose whether you want to purchase your gallery of edited files or other products.
You’ll be asked to sign a contract that will be sent to you via an email link. The contract will contain important details such as date and location, cost, package specifics, and digital files usage. When you pay your retainer and sign your contract, it will secure your wedding date and put you on my calendar. The retainer is 50% of your total. The remaining balance isn’t due until two weeks before your wedding date.
If you want posed portraits on your wedding day, you’ll be asked to either create your own list or fill out a provided portrait checklist. Whatever is easier for you, is the approach taken. You’ll also be asked to complete a Wedding Day Questionnaire. The information on this form is really important in making your day run smoothly.
A timeline will be created based on the information you share in your posed portraits list and questionnaire. We’ll schedule a meeting several weeks before your wedding day to go over your timeline and any last minute additions and/or changes. All of this glorious communication means you can rest assured your wedding day photography will be everything you’ve dreamed of!
During the Wedding Day
You made it! Your wedding day has arrived! I will be there to document all the wonderful details starting at the time discussed on your contract. We will follow the timeline given to you at our last meeting. Because of the photojournalistic approach, there will be little interruption to the natural flow of your day. You can count on a very observant eye! If posed portraits are something you want, time will be dedicated to the portrait list you created. And you can request a photo any time of someone or something you want to remember!
After the Wedding Day
The first thing I do after photographing a wedding is upload all of your images to not only my computer but also to a second source. They also remain on the SD cards from the camera until I am finished editing and have shared the gallery with you. They will be saved in three locations immediately!
It takes a week per hour of wedding day photography to edit your images. For example, if you have a five-hour wedding day, it will take approximately five weeks to edit everything. Your gallery of files will be uploaded into a password-protected gallery for you to access. You will be sent a link via email to view your images. Depending on the specifics of your contract, files may be included. If so, you’ll be able to download your files as soon as you have your gallery link! Additional files (if you didn’t purchase them all when booking) and/or printed images may be purchased through a store attached to your gallery. Wedding albums are also available for purchase.
After you’ve received your purchased items, be it digital files, printed images, and/or an album, I hope you’ll reflect on the positive experience you had with Bang Images as your wedding photographer. Often, couples post images from their wedding day online in various social media platforms. Please tag Bang Images when posting. Word of mouth is one of the biggest ways I get new business. There are several ways you can help boost my small business that don’t cost a thing. Posting a photographer’s credit online is only one way. You could also leave me a review on my Google My Business page. I appreciate you! Without you, there would be no Bang Images, and I can’t imagine life without this dear company of mine. It is truly a labor of love!
