Birmingham Engagement Dress Session / Elyton Hotel / Vivian

It’s such a wonderful experience to photograph someone who is just as excited about the session as you are! I’ve photographed Vivian twice now, and it just keeps getting better. These images are from our first session together. She wanted photographs of her engagement dress. We met on the day of her traditional Vietnamese Engagement Ceremony. Her dress was gorgeous and so ornately designed that the location needed to be just right. I immediately thought of The Elyton Hotel in Birmingham. The overall feel of The Elyton was perfect for Vivian and her engagement dress. She was really impressed by the decor, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Vivian created quite the conversation that day. Hotel guests repeatedly stopped to compliment her. She was stunning!Just look at how the colors of her dress are mimicked in the marble walls of the hotel. Really incredible!
We had a little time before sunset after photographing indoors so we drove to Morris Avenue. There are several great shops and restaurants in that area. One is The Essential, a somewhat new, incredibly delicious restaurant (who makes their own pasta!) with the most beautiful parking lot wall. Just look at the interesting colorful ivy!
