Aimee
It’s been really sweet getting to know Aimee over the last seven years. She is always fun and up for any of my out-of-the-ordinary ideas, like this one for example. Who would’ve thought you could photograph in a gas station parking lot and make it look cool! I imagine you could photograph Aimee anywhere and you’re guaranteed to have a great time and produce some interesting images. She brings the eclectic wardrobe too, so no need to worry about styling. We’ve worked together probably five times over the last seven years and this time we included her fiancĂ©, for an artistic couple’s session, which changed the vibe a little, but in a good way.

The Couple
I sure do love love. Aimee and Michael have been dating for over five years and recently became engaged! I’m really excited for them but also for me because I’ll be photographing their wedding! I’m seriously over the moon!

Aimee is very expressive and I’m convinced can’t be in a bad photo. They just don’t exist of her. And I love the attitude she brings to a shoot. It’s all or nothing, and you better believe, she brings it ALL.

Stormy Sky vs. Golden Hour Sunset
I adore golden hour, but can you guess what I like almost as much as a warm, glowing sunset? A stormy, rain cloud-filled sky has to be my second choice. Ordinarily, I’d be a little upset missing out on a gorgeous golden hour sky, but not on this day. A fairly big storm hit just a couple of hours after our shoot. I absolutely love visual drama! I couldn’t have written a better weather script for this couple’s session.

Moody Lighting
The primary light source came from the headlights of her cute little convertible. We had some help from the gas station lights too. This combo created the exact mood I was hoping for.

I can only imagine how incredible it will be on their wedding day and can’t wait to link this post to their wedding day image post in 2027! Congratulations to Aimee and Michael! May we all be as happy as they are together and look half as good!
