I’m a Birmingham photographer who likes Punk music and loves the LGBTQIA+ community so I’m photographing the first Bham Punk Pride show by Central Alabama Pride. I want to help in any way I can so I’m also sharing information about the event for those interested. Let’s pack this thing!

Central Alabama Pride, Inc. (CAP) is a vibrant 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equality, unity, and visibility for the LGBTQ+ community in Alabama. Each year, we bring together tens of thousands of people from across the state to celebrate pride and stand against inequality. Our events not only foster joy and connection but also support local HIV/AIDS service organizations such as Birmingham AIDS Outreach, AIDS Alabama, and the Magic City Wellness Center and Acceptance Center.
Central Alabama Pride presents “Bham Punk Pride”
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — May 4, 2026 — Birmingham’s first official all-ages Punk Pride show will soon take place at Lakeview Marina Music Park on Friday, June 5, 2026. The goal of Bham Punk Pride is to connect with the community by showcasing local punk/DIY musicians with LGBTQIA+ representation in each act.
Central Alabama Pride is teaming up with Lakeview Marina to amplify Birmingham’s upcoming annual Pride celebration with support from Element Garage, Seasick Records, Stokehold Art, Bang Images, and The Bates Group.
“We put this event together as a way to connect the ideas of Pride as a celebration & Pride as rebellion. Pride as we know it wouldn’t exist without the inextricable link between the punk and LGBTQIA+ communities; Birmingham has deep roots in both,” said Russ Mitchell with Central Alabama Pride. “This show is meant to honor that history, and to reenergize it going forward.”
When: Friday, June 5, 2026. Doors open at 6 PM with music at 7 PM.
Where: Lakeview Marina Music Park, 514 32nd Street South, Birmingham, AL
Cost: $10 at the door
