Kara and Robert’s wedding at Mountain View Gardens & Ballroom in Springville, AL, was really beautiful! A lovely venue, a totally smitten couple, and a great color palette-what’s not to love?
Sometimes couples hire me for a portion of their wedding day to conserve spending. They asked me to photograph their ceremony and couple’s portraits. We got to spend over an hour on their portraits alone, which was a real treat! It allowed us enough time to really explore the area and the options for various settings and not feel rushed.
This wedding venue provides a great outdoor setting, even in December! I’d say we got pretty lucky; our temperature was in the 60’s. Thank you, unseasonably warm Alabama weather.
I’m always in search of a pop of color to include in portraits. It becomes a little harder to find once the fall leaves and temperatures drop. Notice the yellow-green plant life in the distance. We made use of it!
Kara and Robert chose a ceremony time that would compliment their portrait time well. In other words, that golden hour light was perfect during our couple’s portraits. Don’t you just love that warm glow?
I make a point to document the the interesting details, like the appliqué on the groom’s blazer. I really loved their choice of colors for their wedding.
Kara just glowed! She has the most perfect porcelain skin.
Robert was full of laughter! He was mad about her and it showed.
You’d be hard pressed to find a photographer who can resist a large, ornate mirror on a wedding day. Our final moments together were spent in the bridal suite.
I’m grateful that Kara and Robert asked me to photograph their wedding at Mountain View Gardens & Ballroom. It was my first time there as a photographer and it was a terrific experience!
