I was a photography major in college at a wonderful liberal arts school in Alabama. One of my favorite classes was called Alternative Processes; we learned the art of layering negatives to create sometimes conceptual, sometimes just visually stimulating images. Since giving up my darkroom over a decade ago, I've fallen in love with my new tools of editing and altering images and refer to them as my digital darkroom. I've learned how to make these layered creations in Photoshop. It's a wonderful way to find Flow-"a mental state of complete focus, that merges action and awareness, while losing the self-consciousness." -Mihály Csíkszentmihályi
